BISHOPSTONE VILLAGE HALL EVENTS FOR JUNE-JULY 2013.
MOVIOLA FILMS:
There is a great programme of films at fortnightly intervals during June and July.
Friday 7th June : “Love is All You Need” (15) (with Pierce Brosnan)
Friday 21st June : “The Impossible” (12A) (based on a true story about the 2004 tsunami)
Friday 12th July : “Quartet” (12A) (with Maggie Smith, Tom Courtenay, Pauline Collins and others), preceded by the Village Hall Summer BBQ at 5.30pm.
Friday 26th July : “Hyde Park on Hudson” (12A) (about the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to President Roosevelt in 1939).

Cash bar availabe, snacks and ices on sale.
On July 12th, tickets for the Special Summer BBQ at 5.30pm are available from above. There will be a marquee that evening in the car park, so no-one gets wet if it rains, but as a result, there will be limited car parking space available. There will be the usual bar and the film “Quartet” (12A) will follow at 7.30pm.
Tickets for BBQ (£6) and the film (£6) may be booked separately.
Please state any special dietary requirements when booking, and please let us know before Monday 8th July, as we need to purchase the right mount of food.
COFFEE MORNINGS WITH JIGSAW, CD, DVD, AND BOOK EXCHANGE, Plants and produce too when available. The next coffee mornings will be from 10 – 11.30am on 13th and 27th June, then 11th and 25th July, and 8th and 22nd August. Coffee and biscuits only 50p. Come and chat, and choose your puzzles, books or plants. Bring along anything you would like to swop or add to the collection. If you would like help getting to the Village Hall, call 781044.
NEEDLES AND PINS CRAFT GROUP: This group normally meets at two-weekly intervals on Thursday afternoons. The next meetings will be on 6th and 20th June, 3 – 5pm, then 4th July, last of the season. Bring along whatever craft, sewing or knitting you are doing and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a chat, cost £2.50. Transport can be arranged; Call Caroline on 01722 781044 for more information. We are pleased to welcome stitchers from any other areas. Restart date will be 12th September.
YOGA: with Jane, every Thursday, 1.30 – 3pm, £8 per session. Gentle exercise suitable for all ages, sexes and abilities. It enhances physical tone, and make you feel relaxed. Bring a yoga mat, cushion and light blanket. Tel Jane for more details 01722 330305.
EVENING ZUMBA: Zumba 2 is every Thursday evenings, 6.15-7.15pm. Helena Judd of LA Fitness takes this dance fitness class, which is for all ages, energetic and a lot of fun. £4 per session.

MOTHERS & TODDLERS: Thursday Coffee Mornings, on the first Thursday of every month. Tel Sarah Brough for up to date information (07825 442110).
FOR THE DIARY:
The village hall has booked a wonderfully illustrated talk on “The Wildlife of Hants and Dorset” by professional photographer Brian Pettit, on the evening of 4th October .
Tickets £7.50 to include supper. More details later.
Thanks to the installation of the new Audio-Visual System, we will now be able to show films on our own roll-down big screen with an overhead projector and modern sound system.
Please note: This system also includes an up to date hearing loop for those who are hard of hearing.
COURSES IN BISHOPSTONE VILLAGE HALL
MEDIEVAL WESSEX: Following the Chalke Valley History Festival’s success, John Porter’s fascinating course of illustrated historical lectures will start in autumn, from Monday October 14th, for 6 weeks, until Friday 18th November, 2 – 3.30pm.

“FURNITURE HISTORY, ANTIQUE RESTORATION AND REPAIR” by Peter Zevenbergen. This popular course will restart in late summer/autumn. Tel 780002 for information.
