Welcome to Bishopstone Village
This website has been created for two reasons: To provide information on our village for those unlucky enough not to live here and as a portal of information for residents. Please feel free to browse around and if you want to, please leave comments on our village Blog.

The VillageSituated in the beautiful River Ebble (or Chalke) Valley, 5 miles south-west of the City of Salisbury in Wiltshire, the village of Bishopstone can date its history back to the 12th century when it is first recorded as the parish of Bissopeston in 1166. The church of St John the Baptist was built at about this time.
Bishopstone actually consists of 6 Hamlets: Croucheston, Faulston, Netton, Flamstone, Throope and Bishopstone. See the village History pages for more details. The babbling River Ebble runs through the village, dividing into smaller streams through lakes, around islands and through old mills before becoming one entity again as it leaves the village.
Bishopstone has an active, eclectic and vibrant population that hosts many activities all year round. Take a look at the Village and Village Hall calendars on this website and do join us. You will always receive a warm welcome. The countryside around Bishopstone is criss-crossed by many footpaths and bridleways that provide a variety of ways to explore the area and stunning views of the valley. For those active enough to reach the hill tops, the spire of Salisbury Cathedral can be seen and you can walk on the Roman Road from London to Exeter. | Poacher's Moon in the Village Hall
