New Play Tower in the Children's Play Area
The new Play Tower, for younger children, has now been installed in the Children’s Play Area and the Play Train has been repaired and re-painted. Please help us to look after these facilities and report any misbehaviour or vandalism. The Play Tower has been provided using a grant from Wiltshire Council’s South West Area Board and the developer contribution provided by the developers of Faulston Barns.

TRANSPARENCY CODE FOR SMALLER AUTHORITIES
The Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 sets out a new audit framework for smaller local authorities. Parish Councils with a turnover not exceeding £25,000 will, in due course, be exempt from routine external audit. Instead, such authorities, are subject to new transparency requirements which will enable local electors and council tax payers to access relevant information about the authorities’ accounts and governance. These requirements come into force for expenditure in the year 2014/15. The information required has to be published annually, and, for 2014/15, by 1st July 2015.
Smaller authorities are required to publish:
a. all items of expenditure above £100;
b. end of year accounts;
c. annual governance statement;
d. internal audit report;
e. list of councillor or member responsibilities;
f. the details of public land and building assets; and
g. Minutes, agendas and meeting papers of formal meetings.
For Bishopstone Parish Council this information is provided on separate pages that follow.
Any queries about these arrangements should be addressed to Mike Ash, Clerk, Bishopstone Parish Council at bishopstoneclerk@btinternet.com.
