DATES FOR YOUR DIARY:
BISHOPSTONE SAFARI SUPPER, SATURDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER, a car park fundraiser.
We have had village safari suppers before, and always they have been a real success. If you haven’t experienced one before, the idea is that you find a 2nd person to do it with, and both of you put your names down as a couple. The organisers collect together all the pairs and work out a programme where pairs go to the as yet undisclosed homes of other pairs in such a way that everyone hosts one course of a 3 course meal for 6 people (including themselves). A mystery envelope will be waiting for each pair at that first address, telling them where to go for the second course, and so on. Finally everyone is invited to gather for a final get together at the pub (optional). You can walk or drive, and are not expected to produce complicated food. People at the far ends of the village in the past, tended to be the first courses, so the central areas could be walked by the majority. Hence the name “Safari Supper”.
It is complicated to organise, so PLEASE GIVE YOUR NAMES TO SUE AND FRANCIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE on 780316, and by 14th SEPTEMBER AT THE LATEST, cost £15 per head, stating any specific dietary requirements. For that you are guaranteed a lovely meal with accompanying drink, a lot of laughs, and often meeting new people. Start time 6.30pm, to be confirmed.
QUIZ NIGHT: Sunday 21st October, 6.30 for 7pm start., £10 per head, including supper.
Tables of 4, £40, or individually £10. We can pair you up if you are not a complete table. Always a very entertaining evening. Tickets from 781044, 780316 or < email@example.com> More details in due course.
Friday 16th November, “THE NAVY LARKS” – a return of the very popular men’s sea shanty singing choir. Tickets £12.50, sold in advance only, from 01722 781044, 780316 or 780424. Tickets also available through firstname.lastname@example.org
Please book early as it was a sell-out last year, and many people were disappointed.
Proceeds to be shared between The Parkinsons Society and Bishopstone Village Hall.
“EXTEND” EXERCISE CLASSES: Restarting on Friday 7th September, then every Friday, 2-3pm, Bishopstone Village Hall.
